What are AIS STEM and AIS STEAM?
Previously called AIS PREP, AIS STEM stands for American Indian Services – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. It is a free STEM summer day program for middle schoolers, which provides three summers of rigorous academic instruction in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, educational hands-on projects, challenging homework assignments, and daily career awareness lectures. AIS STEM’s academically demanding content has been proven to raise test scores and help students prepare for their advanced high school courses.
AIS STEAM has the same STEM curriculum, but it is a boarding program rather than a day program. This means that students will stay in dorms on campus 5 days a week and go home for the weekends. The A in STEAM stands for Art. On top of the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics curriculum that the students participate in during the day, they will also have arts classes in the evening.
